About The Merry Artist

Hi, I’m Charlotte

I’ve always been looking for ways to create beauty around me. From when I was little, I’ve always been happiest making something. You can create things for necessity or comfort, but I believe it is also important to create beautiful experiences. A homemade meal makes you feel cared for – I like to think of my music and artistry like that, except for the soul. Everyone has a deep need for beauty and care, and that is what I want to bring to everyone I serve.

Creativity has always been a big part of my family. My mom has always thought it was so important for us to develop creatively and learn interesting skills. She has helped my siblings and me get into almost any hobby (as long as she approves). My sister does watercolor, and my brother does woodburning. I found myself trying out different instruments, making cakes, and painting.

I’ve always loved the harp and wanted to play. However finding a harp and a teacher is the hard part. I tried several other instruments, then a family friend introduced us to her harp teacher. I started out with a 20-string harp, and it was so sweet to play, but then I quickly moved on to a lever and then a pedal harp. Meet Estrer, my pedal harp!! She’s the best, and it was so special to play her the first time and hear the notes I love playing now. Practicing is one of my favorite things to do. It brings me joy, and it gives to anyone around. The harp is amazing at setting the mood of a place with its deep resonance. The harp makes even contemporary pieces feel upbeat and elegant. I’ve been so amazed at how the harp can fit into any music genre.

I’ve always loved baking and cooking. My mom got a culinary degree, so she’s always in the kitchen and has taught me so much of what I know. One time, we were asked to make a wedding cake, and I loved the buttercream and floral look. I kept on experimenting with baking. Then, when my mom had my brother, I made cakes every week for six months straight!! This was such a fun time to get flavors and processes perfected. Making so many cakes, I started to get referrals for weddings and special occasion cakes. It’s been so amazing to perfect the art of making cakes and using fresh flowers to decorate them. I get to combine flower arranging and cake making, which are two of my favorite things.

When I’m not making cakes, I love spending time with my eight siblings. It’s so special to spend time with them at the beach, pool, and on adventures around Maryland. I love experiencing new, beautiful things and creating memories with people I love. Summers are my favorite time with all the friend get-togethers we host. My house somehow always becomes one of the best parts of everyone’s summer.

Being able to help with celebrations brings me so much joy. Working with me, I want to create an experience that is classy and beautiful. When doing artistry for an event, I try to complement the atmosphere and create something that feels true to the people being celebrated. I want my clients to feel like I’ve got them and can bring their vision to life.

My Approach

Every event is different, and I approach each one with heart. I love getting to know my clients and creating something that reflects them. My hope is that everything I create feels natural and joyful.

Values

Faith:My faith is central to my life, and I seek to reflect Christ in the way I create and serve others.

Calm & Joy: I create experiences that feel peaceful and uplifting.

Creativity: Each event is unique, and I love crafting something that reflects that.

Connection: I listen, understand, and collaborate with my clients to make your day meaningful.

I care deeply about creating work that feels calm, thoughtful, and well-crafted — because these moments matter.

If you’re planning a wedding or special event, I’d love to be part of it
